We have a cherry-colored wooden sleigh crib. I LOVE it. We decorated the room in Classic Pooh and painted it light green, but with lots of pink accents for our little girl.

I wanted a dark crib because we're military and move a lot - if we end up in military housing and can't paint the walls, I don't want the crib to blend in with the white walls. Plus I think the cherry crib can easily be used for either gender.

Ultimately it's whatever you like - I'm sure your baby's nursery will be beautiful no matter what you choose.

Either...it depends on the room. There are beautiful wooden cribs that would be perfect for a girl, or if white goes with your decor, go for that. I love the natural wood colored cribs with the beautiful designs, personally.

I would say cherry wood. But we have a white crib (didn't get to get what I wanted) and I think it's good too. Then you can do the room in pink & white, or you can pretty much guarantee that whatever theme you choose will match the white crib. So I say either one. Whichever you prefer.

I used a white crib from jenny lynn and I love it and have had no problems with it ( she is 14 months now) It is not bad priced and comes from Toys R Us or babys R us. I think if you plan to have another and can not afford to buy a diff kind ( if you want to with a boy) then just get a brown one ( maybe a light wood) I love my white one though and it looks perfect with all her things ( better than a brown one would)

Just use the natural wood. We have a white crib, and its chipping already... it was expensive, and now I regret getting the white. I would suggest buying the plaind crib and decorating the sheets and bumpers something feminine..> GOOd luck and congrats!

I wanted a white crib so bad for our daughter but we couldnt find one so his grandmother ended up getting a wood one and now we see the white ones everywhere, I like the white ones even for a boy you could decorate with something blue.

Both would be nice, but personally I like white.

But I saw at the swap meet a black crib that looked so cute with hot pink and black blankets and things.

It looked really nice in baby blue and black also.
