Funny that I came across this question.. I lived in Glendale for about 16 years.. the best places to live in Glendale are closest to the mountains. Above Glenoaks is best (Kenneth and above).. Also, there are some great areas near the Chevy Chase country Club, as well as near Glendale Community College. The best, in my opinion, is above Kenneth - Mountain (the street).. it's pretty expensive to live there, though, especially if you're buying. Many homes are over a million.

If you HAVE to move to Glendale, the best place to live would be around the Adam Square neighborhood (Adams Street/York/Verdugo). That way you'll be close to Eagle Rock which is the hippest place to live in the city L.A.
Otherwise, check out the neighborhoods north of Glenoaks. Or very far north near Montrose.

I really like the Rossmoyne area (Ethel and Mountain and Greenbriar are the main roads) because it is quiet but centrally located. There is a little park (nibley park) you can walk to.
