Yes, it would bother me and I would either speak to them or ask one of the servers to do so. People who lack consideration for others and act like that may like to pretend they are important but really inside they lack self esteem and are crying out for attention. Something is clearly missing in their life.

If you mean the person you are with then yes it would bother me because firstly they should have put it on silent/vibrate as they should be giving ME all their attention! Also if they didn't answer what was the reason, didn't want to speak to the person on the other end, their wife/partner calling? or pretending it wasn't theirs. It would be better to just silence it before going into the restaurant, expensive or not, or to have answered it and said it wasn't convenient as you were in a restaurant. Maybe if it was someone else I would not have been bothered as much, would have just thought they were ignorant. Maybe restaurants should have a policy of 'silent mobiles' as some people i think like people to listen to their calls or that's what it seems like as they speak loudly enough for the whole restaurant/bus/train to hear!

Yes, people should put their phones on vibrate or turn them off completely in restaurants.

This is extremely annoying and my heart is curing at that bastard. There are people specially men like doing this kind of **** and destroy the entire restaurant.

I'm sorry if you ran into a case like this...

well, why is this question in this category and not in etiquette? but that might bother me. But what's the point? Yes, he should have silenced the ringing, but you can only allow something to be spoiled if that is your choice.

It's more annoying when they do answer it and start having a loud converstation for 15 minutes.
