okay, first off, i'm not some idiot wanting to be a popstar, i'm a music major in college and have been composing since middle school. anyways, i have 2 questions.
1) i want to move to new york this summer for four months but the only way i can think of my parents helping me with rent is if i go do an internships. are there any other options?
2) my music is kind of like pop with a bit of classical, and it doesn't sound like stuff on the radio at all...do you think that anyone will even want to hear me?

any other comments on anything is appreciated as well!

I would suggest you start doing some street music as a busker. You will make some money to help pay for your rent, and also, you will soon see if people will like your music, and you will know which songs of yours people like to hear. Also, as a bonus, your performances will get much stronger, and you will gain more confidence as a performer of your own songs.

my teachers friend is a local artist... i suggest making a demo CD somehow it may be a little expensive or you can do it for free by yourself or with a friend somehow lol and ask radio stations if they can ask there publicist if h e likes it and can play it on the radio and see if they can put an add in saying anyone hearing this would like to sign her to a record label than put your e-mail or phone number in

well, first you should make a myspace page and tell everyone to go listen to your songs that way. get feedback and see what people think.
