Hey. I know how spiderman does most of his stuff, but one thing that gets me is how he ziplines. where is the science? he doesn't like reel in his web does he? if you have an idea, please help!

The thing to remember with Spider-man is that he's a guy with an average build and weight, but he can lift and throw cars fairly easy. It would make sense then that he could launch himself pretty well by a quick tug on a web-line. He doesn't reel the web back in, he just uses it as an anchor to pull himself toward the object it's attached to.

In the comics he shoots the line. Then stops shooting and catches the end. Then he swings. He has said many time that the webs last about a hour then dissolve. He even described this on a episode of the Spider-man cartoon to a little girl. Who was sick and claimed to be his biggest fan.

No he doesn't reel it back in, he just creates a new line for each swing and cuts off from the old one as he goes. Yes if your looking for the science this would leave the entire city covered in webbing - hell for the street cleaners - but it's a comic............

Doesn't zipline he maks a new web and lets go of the old one.

The 1st guy/gal was right. He shoots one out onto his object of choice and then continues to *yank* it, but with his feet off the ground, pulling himself in.
