I called my doctor and they said it could be my ligaments, but for me to keep track of the pain...right now there not as bad as they were this morning but im getting this cramps that make my stomach really hard and they do feel a little like contractions, but not really. All they told me to do was drink 3 liters of water and take some tylenol...has anyone else experienced this?

Dehydration can cause contractions, so the advice to drink water was good. Also, put your feet up and continue to drink fluids, keep track of the hardenings. If it continues for more than an hour, call your doctor back and ask to be seen for an internal exam just to be on the safe side. I once had a doctor tell me my 'gas pains' were stretching ligaments, and if he had only done an internal exam, he would have seen how wrong he was. Just tell them you'd rather be a nuisance to them, and have peace of mind for yourself. If they can't handle it, perhaps it is time to find a doctor who doesn't mind reasurring you.

It is not too early for braxton hicks...and that is exactly what you are having. It does seem to be caused by dehydration...and maybe a little tiredness. So do exactly what the doc says....drink tons of water and lay down for a few. If you do this and have more than 5 in an hour, call your doc again.

The extra water and tylenol advise makes it sound like docs think this is an intestinal problem - which is very common in pregnancy.
If it were Braxton Hicks, there's not much you can do about it except deal with it.

i started getting braxton hicks really bad around 24 weeks, take it easy, i am 34 weeks and contracting and 3cm dialated. so go slow, but yes drinking water is very important it can cause you to contract and go into preterm labor. monitor how long they last and how often they are occuring.

I would see another physician. This doesn't sound normal to me. Not to scare you this could be a sign of miscarriage. It may be normal for you, but if you're having cramps you could be dehydrated or any number of things. It could be simple, but go to a doctor, relax, reduce your stress, and find out.

Yes. I have...three times, and about to go for round 4! Listen to what your doctor tells you. He (she) is right!! Just relax and try not to do too much bending, twisting, and lifting. It's just your little one, moving and stretching!! Be excited! You are becoming a mother, and CONGRATULATIONS!!! Motherhood is one of the best things that God has given us!!

the baby may be shifting position, insist that the doctor examines you.

this could be very dangerous for the baby, I myself have shiftesd position and came out feet first (very bad) with the umbillical chord wraped around my chest/nack.
