If I were to have someone change my oil at my home, I would pay no more than $5.00 over the establishment I use now. which is about $37.00 - that's for oil filter, oil and lube. Now you also have to consider the fact that some drivers will only permit the dealership change the oil due to the fact that now days if the dealership changes the oil or services the vehicle the warranty is extended by 50,000 miles like the Hyundai. More and more manufacturers will be doing that and everyone will not want to void the warranty. So, your thoughts of starting a business of changing oil at peoples homes is going to be limited to old cars or people who don't understand how warren ties work.. Good Luck in your endeavors.

For pity sake, change it yourself, take a bowel and place it under the sump, unscrew the oil plug and allow the oil to drain into the bowel. Poor that into a tin and take it to your local recycling depot, don't poor it down a surface water drain, and refill the car with two pints of oil, then recheck it 10 mins later and top up and re0check again, till the dipstick is at the right level, but always clean the dipstick first and reinsert it, to take a proper and clean reading. Yeah i forgot that, have the oil filter changed too, they are only a few pounds, nothing really to bother about, Just hammer a screwdriver through the old one and turn it anticlockwise to unscrew it. But, and remember this, its very important.... Buy an oil flush liquid first, b4 doing anything, poor this into the engine be4 changing the oil and it will remove any debris from the engine and dump it in the sump, then when you change the oil and fit the new oil filter, you can be sure the engine is clean, only run the engine with the oil flush in for about 15 mins b4 emptying the sump of the old oil k. Edx

If I'm having my oil changed at home I would be willing to pay whatever the oil and filter cost. Why would you pay someone to come to your house and change your oil. Either do it yourself (which is not that hard) or take it in to the shop. Big deal. You will be spending a lot more by having someone come to your house and do it for you. I wouldnt pay for it at all.

I do have it changed at home.....$2.50 filter, 1.50/qt oil, and an hours worth of time. The key is to be prepared: have ramps, filter wrench (for removal only) wrench for plug, and something to drain the oil into. Be sure and dispose of the oil properly. You will not void any warranties if you keep records.
