Picture yourself outside a nice resturant in RAGs begging for a dime, as people walk by and spit at your feet.

leave your cell phone at home, it is a HUGE distractor, pay attentention in class, if the teacher is talking about a lecture jot down some notes or interesting facts about the lecture, or if there is notes on the board, write them down, and use them to study off, if you are sitting next to people who mess around and you want to do well, move away from them, and tune them out, this will help you alot, and if it helps you to pay attention and stay focused sit in the front, you are less likely to fall asleep and pay more attention, also to get motivated, if you dont get the best grades, try seeing if you can do better, just study and keep going its kind of hard, to get motivated at first but once you get a routine down you can achieve alot, first you have allready trained your brain that you can do better in school, and second when you are applying to colleges you will recieve more money due to better grades.

Ask your teachers if you can move to the front row of each class so you don't get distracted by what's happening around you. Attend every class and take notes. After class or after school every day, force yourself to recopy your notes (I always told myself that the ones I took in class were messy and I had to rewrite them in case someone cute wanted to borrow my notes). :) Good luck! You can do it!

Make it in to a competition. If you focus on acheiving the goal or winning, you could motivate yourself.
