1. SUVs are an unbelievable waste of resources. it is understandable for a large family to own one (even so, a minivan is a safer, more economical choice), but most SUVs i see on the road are occupied by ONE PERSON. that's like giving the planet the middle finger and saying "**** the future of my children, driving an unsafe, uneconomical vehicle to show people how important i am comes first!"
2. they are seen as a status symbol, and people associate a (false) sense of entitlement with being wealthy enough to own and drive an SUV. unfortunately, the road, parking lots, oil, and the environment are all things that every person has an equal right to and must be shared.
3. contrary to popular belief, they are not safe. they are not safe for the driver or other cars on the road. accidents are always worse when an SUV is involved. they roll over, the people inside the SUV die. they roll over, they crush smaller cars and the people inside the smaller cars die. it's bad enough to put your own safety at risk, but when you put a complete stranger's safety at risk because of your selfish desire to look important, that's just wrong.
bottom line: it's the ultimate act of selfishness!

Here's my beef with SUV drivers:
- They are wasteful in every way:
* Gas usage
* Space
* Road wear (from excess weight)
- They encourage unsafe driving behavior by giving a false sense of safety in less than optimal conditions. If anything, SUVs are the most unsafe vehicles on the road. Their wimpy brakes are no match for their massive weight; their high centers of gravity increase the danger of rollover accidents; the factory tires are not made for "bad weather" driving; their "traction" systems (AWD/4WD) make certain drivers believe that they can ignore the elements
- SUVs pose a threat to other drivers on the road due to their higher stance, higher weight and the aforementioned recklessness
- The newer models of SUV normally ship with limo-tinted rear glass, which makes them rolling "blinds" on the highway, and even worse blockages in parking situations.
- Drive-thru amenities like ATMs are changing to suit the wasteful SUV driver, screwing the rest of us over
- The average SUV engine pollutes far more than its sedan counterpart
Is that enough?

the two. we would desire to continuously seek for option materials yet till a sensible alternative is got here upon, oil use should not be limited. Oil isn't purely an power source. ninety% of what's at your residence is probably made out of oil, so eliminating SUVs from the roads shouldn't do lots. you are able to not build a working laptop or laptop video reveal out of wind or easy.

I think gas is one of the main reasons. They consume a lot of gas. Gas is oil and oil is at the center of our (the United States) energy crisis.
Also, a lot of people own SUV as status symbols. They were origianlly developed for off-roading and being heavy duty work trucks. Now (most) SUVs are used by suburbanite soccer moms and guys who want to look tough.

Because of the whole "Soccer Mom" Aura. I associate SUV's with 30 something women who don't really know how to drive an SUV, talking on their cell phone, not paying attention to what is happening on the road!

i drive SUV and still think they drive too crazy. I drive crazy my own self. i guess another reason why people dont like people driving SUV's is because they are causing the Global Warming to get worst. Those vehicles burn more fossil fuels

My problem is short women who drive them, because I've been hit twice, while parked!
Their reason was...."I didn't see you..."
I think if you can't see around your vehicle, either adjust your mirrors or drive a car!
I don't have a Miata or something that tiny, so it makes me mad.
I,would hate to think of a kid or old person in a chair, going by behind them, when they're backing up....
