You shouldn't nail or glue them. You have to take off the old ones, clean the place where they were, put silicon on the part that will be in contact with the wall, then put plaster around the window frame to have it seal to the wall. Make sure you put it correctly, meaning that it is perfectly horizontal and vertical.

Do not glue them. The glue bond (if done properly) will be stronger than the wood so if you ever need to remove them for any reason you will destroy them taking them off. You don't want nails as the heads will show. Use brads. You can buy them at any hardware store. You will also need a nail setter. It cost about a dollar. It's a large punch you use to drive the brad below the surface of the wood so they won't show.

I just added wooden frames to my windows in my mobile home. New home with funky aluminum windows. The best way would be to get a miter box, & miter cut your molding, then nail it around your windows with 2" finishing nails (no heads). Looks professional.

you should have received some plastic and metal pins that are the fastening device for these. The pin fits into a slot in the edge of the grid and pushes down to hold it in place. Its also easy to remove to clean , paint, or repair the window.
