Because it's a little more room for their sons to have sex with other members of the soccer team.

All soccer moms aren't obese and drive mini vans! But the mini van has more room .

Because the feel obliged to be "supermoms", according to society's expectations, and ferry their OWN kids as well as several others to the obligatory soccer practice, school plays, summer camp, etc.,....anything to keep the kids from chilling and enjoying life! As for the obese part, I usually see the minivan crowd as THIN, since they never sit still, but must RUSH back to their huge, recently re-decorated super-kitchens to make a bunch of grub for the hungry crowd ("Skillet sensations and so on"). God forbid they have a life of their own!
The opposite of a "soccer mom"? I like to call myself a "microwave" mom! Really...once kids are teens, they should be able to amuse themselves AND do most of their own cooking! I did.

It's required if you want to be an active member of the Soccer Moms of America.
But I agree with Paperdoll, they are usually really fit and have fake blond hair and long talon nails. But this is in NJ.

When you have kids and they become 12, you get really soft and mushy and cook fatty food every day. The only exersize you get is loading up the maytag with sweaty kneesocks. Transporting kids means small busses. Have you ever smelled the inside of a soccer mom's minivan? OMG!

i'm neither obese nor a soccer mom.. but driving a mini van is extremely EXTEMELY comfortable..

Because they can only fit 12 kids in them. there obese because there always getting the kids a fast meal like mcdonalds, and they never have time to excersise.

Hey dude Im a mom. My kids don't play soccer though and those mini vans ****-n rock, and yes I drive one.
