I have recently received "Heir to the Empire" from a friend, and this is 5 years after Return of the Jedi happened, is there anything in between that I should read? Or is this the bonafide next chapter, like, Chapter VII if you will?

George Lucas wrote 4 trilogies for Star Wars.
Trilogy 2:
Episode 1 The Phantom Menace
Episode 2 Attack of the Clones
Episode 3 Revenge of the Sith
Trilogy 1:
Episode 4 A New Hope
Episode 5 The Empire Strikes Back
Episode 6 Return of the Jedi
Trilogy 3:
Episode 7 The Fallen Hero
Episode 8 The Republic in Crisis
Episode 9 Victory of the Force
Trilogy 4:
Episode 10, 11 and 12. (Sorry i couldnt find much information about the name of these as i only heard of it recently)

Episode 7-9 takes place 30 years after Episode 6 and Lucas says the original actors that are still alive will be in those episodes.

Episodes 10-12 will take place thousands of years after episode 9.

Truce at Bakura is the first book chronologically after Return of the Jedi.

It pales in comparison to the The Thrawn Trilogy though (Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, The Last Command)

The first book, chronologically, after Return of the Jedi is "Truce at Bakura"

I wouldn't know...
I have this theory...
Why ruin a good movie by reading the book?
