We've been here before and before and he's already been hit and left for those personal reasons. Also, if by some miracle he is useful ,how effective will he be consdering he hasn't pitched in a mlb game since 2005?

Those who are thinking trade, who would take him? If we toss him in as a "bonus" player, maybe but we would have to eat that contract and do you think Steinbrenner would be willing to do that? I can't see another team taking Pavano considering the cost and his history.

Not a chance. It will continue to be the worst $40,000,000 ever spent.

To be effective all he needs to do is eat up innings and stay on the mound. He should get enough run support to win some games even if he's not hitting all his spots. But do i see him actually making through the season? NO CHANCE! Hughes is being prepared to take over Pavano's spot in the rotation by July.

yes but that doesnt mean he will do good
mussina criticized him and put a lot of pressure on him to go out and pitch through pain
plus he pitched after getting hit in the ankle

BTW to whoever said he hopes yanks will trade him... nobody would ever take a player who gets hurt every other day

also... hughes isnt coming up till 08 since he only pitched 200-250 innings

He may make it hrough the season but hopefully its on another team. The Yankees are shopping Pavano with hopes of adding another Starter to the team.

Hey I feel your pain. I'm also a Yankee fan. But unfortunately Carl Pavano will not make the whole year. He will get injured sooner or later because fate is pretty.

He will be useful eventually maybe not in first half of season though. He should be able to eat up some innigs since he hasn't played in over a year.

pavano was the biggest waste of money since brown. why yankees gave him that huge contract, i will never know. just look at his career record.

i will not count on him to be much help and i am glad this will be the last season of him. thankfully, we have other options. i can't wait to see hughes

he might. i saw him pitch on TV yesterday. he was getting hit hard but dey were right at the fielders. if he gets his control back over spring training he'll do well enough.

Sorry, no. He's shaping up to be a giant head case, and a money drain.
