I am 31 weeks pregnant. I'm small (5'3... 105 lbs. before pregnancy, 135 now). I failed the 1 hour glucose test and have declined the 3 hour glucose test. The doctor is worried the baby may become too large. Has this happened to anyone else? Did you have a C-section?

I ended up having a c-section after a couple of hours of fruitless pushing. My daughter was 10lb 13oz. - definitely BIG, and I'm 5'6" with a slight build.

I'd encourage you to get the second glucose test. If you've got gestational diabetes (GD), it's best for you if you and your doctor manage it through the rest of your pregnancy. GD tends to make babies bigger - all that extra glucose is a terrific growth inducer. You might also want to talk to your doc about a late-term ultrasound so that you've got a good idea just how big your baby is. That will make the discussion about the c-section a lot more informed.

It relies upon on your body. some women human beings tear more beneficial accessible than others. Did you've any complications including your daughter? Did your mom or grandmother have any problems with their over 10 pound little ones? refer to you physician and be attentive to the options obtainable and make certain he's universal with the way you experience about a c-section and know how he feels about your body's potential to grant a huge infant. (in spite of the undeniable fact that in honesty, 9 lbs is seen a huge infant too.) you may want to attempt a vaginal delivery with the alternative set up beforehand that if there are complications or topics you may be taken to ER in the present day for a C-section. It occurs each of the time. My nephew Joseph replaced right into a 14 pound little bowling ball popping out of a 112 pound little lady. She and her physician had anticipated her to need a C-section, yet she had to target to did nicely.
