It's normal for young babies to lose their hair.. likely it's not from the cradle cap, I freaked out when my second daughter woke up one morning half bald. What I use for my kids for cradle cap, eczema and any other skin ailments is a mixture of about 2oz of grape seed oil and add about 1/4 tsp of tea tree oil. Massage it into her head in the mroning and before bed. The grape seed oil is really good for dry skin and the tea tree oil will kill any bacteria that thrives. I've used that mixture successfully for 3 kids now :)

My daughter is three months old as well. She had a mild case of cradle cap. What I did was take the johnsons and johnsons baby oil gel and I gently rubbed it into her scalp. After doing so, I shampooed her hair. Then I repeated this the next night, and she has no more cradle cap. It also helps to use a soft brush on her scalp right before you put the baby oil on. It helps to loosen up the little flakes. Just be gentle. You will notice a little redness, but it will go away within a few minutes. Its just from rubbing their scalp. Be careful when you are washing your daughters hair after applying the baby oil gel because you will not want to get it in her eyes.

My son was 7 weeks old when we rid him of cradle cap.
This is how you do it:
moisten his scalp with baby oil. leave in on for like ten minutes or so, until it loosens the flakes. Then take a fine tooth baby comb, and sort-of, comb it off. Gently scrape it away. With the baby oil on there, it should come off quite easily. Your baby will be fussy and crying, so have your husband help you. And don't tackled it all in one sitting. Try some today, and keep the scalp oiled. Then try again tomorrow if there is still a little.
You only need to wash your baby's head/hair about once a week..unless it's dirty. Over-washing dries out their poor scalps and thus brings on the nasty stuff. It's embarrassing when your child has this, and it must be itchy. Poor darlings. Just take my advice..use the baby oil to moisten it, then gently comb/scrape off the flakes with a fine-tooth baby comb. The ones that come in the cheap comb/brush sets from the dollar stores work wonders. They're sturdy and fine combs.
Good luck!!

A great trick I know of is using baby oil. Rub a little bit of baby oil on the affected area and let it soak in then wsh the baby's hair the next day. Also, try washing her hair less often. 2-3 times a week should be ok. Good luck

Use a soft brush when shampooing baby's hair or gently massage with your nails. After bath, use a little baby oil. I would NOT recommend dandruff shampoo. It prob wouldn't work and it's too strong for baby's sensitive skin. As for the hair loss, most baby's lose that anyways. It'll grow back!

My physician told me to use selsum Blue shampoo a few times a week and let it sit on the scalp a few minutes. Also, if the cradle cap is behind the ears to also let the shampoo get behind the ears for treatment. This absolutely worked, but i have heard oil works well too but seems kind of messy to me!

Two of my children had it when they were infants. I put Johnson's Baby Oil on their hair at night. Wet the whole head with it. Comb it through. Leave it in all night. In the morning comb it again with a fine tooth comb. Then wash as usual. You can repeat this daily as needed until the cradle cap goes away. It worked wonders for my kids. After two treatments it was gone and did not come back. At night when you put it in you may want to put a thin towel or receiving blanket under her head though so it does not get all over the sheets.

Don't worry too much about the falling hair. She'll probably grow it all back later. If you want to loosen the skin, you can put a little baby oil on it and let it soak in for fifteen minutes, then comb it out and wash the hair normally.
