You need to set the timezone for where you want it to be. (Do this by right clicking on the time and seliecting adjust date and time and then select Time zone) Entering the time manually will not change it because your timezone is set differently to the time you have entered. Using the timezone anyway is a more accurate time!!

With XP, your best bet is to get the DST fix from Microsoft.

If you'd rather change the settings manually than get the fix, then you need to UNcheck the box that says "automatically adjust the time for daylight savings."

Check that you have the correct time zone selected on the Time Zone tab, or if you prefer to alter the time manually, untick the "Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes" at the bottom of the Time Zone tab.

Do you live in a time zone that does not have daylight savings time? If you do turn off the "automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes" from the "Time Zone" tab

You can have windows XP sync your time for you. Mine worked fine even with the new DST switch. Go here for more information:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307897

That may be all you need. Maybe you are syncing with a bad source?

You have probably not installed the DST fix. It is setting itself from the internet and ignoring DST. Go to http://www.microsoft.com and follow the links for the fix.
