Its like they're making nothing but sequals of their movies and not actual new concepts. Can their writers not think of something more original than just keep making more sequals to Cinderella..Fox and the Hound, Lady in the Tramp....ect.

Well in all true honesty Disney has had very few original ideas for their movies. Most are just old fairy tales. And the remakes are all about money. They take their top selling movies and make sequels because people will buy them. It not about running out of ideas. I'm sure they have loads of ideas, especially since teaming up with Pixar. Its all about money.

Man everyone has been dissing on Disney latetly. Well firstly Disney is more than just their animation department, Disney also does Family Films and owns a lot of other studios.
Secondly, I think Disney has come out with a lot of original movies latetly like Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Monsters Inc. I do agree that these are mainly CGI films in collaboration with Pixar...but that is the way cartoons are going latetly. Almost nothing is hand drawn anymore, it's all digital. It's the way of the world really...look at movies like 300, it was almost entirely shot on blue screen..all added didigtally.
But also Disney is coming out with a new movie in 2009 featuring the first black Disney princess. It's The Princess and the Frog and its set in New Orleans..I think thats very impressive.
I still love Disney..but maybe Im just a big kid at heart.

Of corse! Just like america has run out of good actors! but don't be alarmed its only temp. until they can find better story lines... in about 7 years. Then they'll make remakes... Just Kidding! Disney is classic and only hires the BEST. Im sure that things will start looking better for them in the future!

Well, I read that in the coming year they will be releasing a new movie starring it's first black princess. So I'm sure it's just taking time for these things to occur--obviously.

It is more the fact that they are not interested in expanding their horizons. Part of that is the mindset from Eisner and many of his projects still have to work their way through the system, the other is that a sequel does not require that much work (and look how badly most of them have done)

I agree, their movies aren't anything like they used to be. And these days they contain so many scenes that most little children have no clue what it's about. I guess they do it to entertain the adults too, but hey, Disney = children.

I think it's sad they can't come up with anything more original, they have to damage classic movies with sequels. All they have to do is crack open a book of fairy tales and a whole world of opportunity will open to them. It's not that difficult.
