for cooking pots I just use soap filled steel wool pads purchased from the super market or the discount store or the handy man store (may also be in the paint store) you cannot leave them on the sink as they rust so drain or squeeze with paper and put in the freezer Oh and it does not require much elbow grease just a bit of a rub....

well as I have told many people here about this great product I use for almost all my household cleaning ,I can tell you too. It´s a type of a natural stone cleaner cream . It cleans Stainless Steel, Copper, Aluminium, Silver, Gold, Brass, Bronze, well almost all metals, It´s great for cleaning the bathrooms , cleans windows. well almost all surfaces . Now you've just reminded me..........of when I was a slip of a lad and used to use Solvol Autosol, (in a tube) to polish all the aluminium on my lovely ol' Norton. Great stuff.You'll need a tub of elbow grease too of course, :-)

Start of with 2400 grade wet and dry Emery paper. Then use brass polish with a rag or ideally a buffing head and a electric drill.

In crafting, I use a buffer pad on my hand held sander. I've also burnished it with a bone tool, and I've used the soft brillo's, I get these cheap ones and they're very soft, kinda like an sos pad they done scratch so much. Then burnish or buff.

A tin of Brasso....A clean rag.....And loads of elbow grease....That should do it.......
