In a photoshop type program, open your picture file of the piece of art you want... then add your name and a date on the picture and save it... I know sometimes it may seem to 'take away' or distract something from the piece, but it's the best way to literally 'put your mark' on it...

"Copying?" Do you mean it's online? If so, you can't! The best you can do is add things that make copying harder, like the "no left click" Javascript, or splitting your images into multiple files displayed side-by-side so if someone saves it they have to get all the files then stick them together, and probably won't even notice that they only have part of the picture when they save it. But you can't prevent copying completely because people can always use screenshots, etc.

If you look at art poster websites the companies have their name or logo imprinted like a watermark across the image - that's the best way. If you are trying to prevent someone from stealing your idea or style then it's best not to put it on website.
