BECAUSE TEACHERS WILL BE TEACHERS

2007-03-14 04:13:41 · answer #1 · answered by melovedogs 3 · 0 0

The teacher is obviously trying to gain control of the situation. Rather than make fun of the statement, try responding with "Yes, but this is not the time, I'm sorry if I distrupted." and allow the teacher to continue. You will gain points from the teacher for your adult method of handling this.

This may not be very flattering to teachers, but people that go into teaching tend to be those that *barely* make it into university. I think they tend to lack self esteem, and try to intimidate you in that way. Smart people don`t take cheap shots like that.

That's because they're lining you up for the next question, the killer !! Based on whether they think whatever comes out of your mouth next is cheeky or not, they're most likely to painfully embarrass you if they are mad enough at you.

The next question, if you've answered no, probably would be along the lines of :

"Oh so, you usually laugh for no reason do you?"

Or yes (Really bad choice, by the way)

"Really?? Please stand up and share............. "

Yikes !! Either way, I reckon it's probably better to just play dumb all of a sudden !!

PEACE

because the teachers(some of them) who seriously lack sense of humor tend to ask this question. and the teachers may not always find what we students find "funny" actually funny...

Perhaps the teacher is seriously trying to teach you something and you seriously don't care to learn.

Because they think they are talking very seriously and can't imagine what could possibly be funny in what they just said.

Perhaps a better question would be: "Why the hell are you laughing at me?"
