Sub zero temperatures, 100 mile an hour winds and 40ft high waves, do you know what you're letting yourself in for?
If you want to do it privately on a yacht you'll have to crew and to sail with the trades you'll have to go from UK to the Canaries onto the Caribbean then north along the east coast of America until you reach Canada.
For a more direct route instead of a cruise liner there are some merchant ships that sell limited cabin space, you can go northbound UK to Iceland onto Greenland down the Labrador current to New Foundland a sailings to mainland Canada should be no problem from there. Either way run it through a few search engines there is plenty of choices out there. Good Luck

Most cruise liners go from Southampton. Many years ago there used to be a service to Halifax, Nova Scotia, but these days I think the only reasonably regular service is to New York with Cunard on either the Queen Victoria, QE2 or Queen Mary 2.

There is about one eastbound and westbound crossing a month from Southampton to New York, currently the Queen Mary 2 for 2007 sailings. Departure dates this year are 18/5, 4/6, 26/6, 12/7, 28/7, 9/8, 25/8, 22/9, 13/10 and 25/10.

I guess you'd have to transfer from New York by train.

Boat from uk impossible and if he founds a provider provider deliver he may well be bore to death. the perfect answer is to integrate his holidays along with your marriage. He could desire to start a week until now and by way of battling in 2 or 3 considerable cities on the way finally end up at Italy and take the Ferry to Patra. in spite of the indisputable fact that the whole kinfolk can take the comparable direction and function some high quality kinfolk moments previously your wedding ceremony :)

Buy a ticket, get on the boat and wait until it reaches Canada, then get off... simple unless you are intending to visit western Canada, then the taxi fare from the docks to your destination will be a big one, simpler to fly or put off the trip

You could take a transatlantic cruise to New York city and then take a train/bus/rent a car to Canada.
