I recommend cutting out milk - I know it may sound drastic - giving water and/or dilute squash instead [milk is notorious for upsetting the tummy] . Then if that's kept down, give him fruit - apples, pears, berries, dried fruit to nibble on. [Avoid citrus fruits though.] If this stays down, the next stage is bananas on day 2 and vegetable sticks like carrot and cucumber. Then things like biscuits and toast. Re-introduce milk on the evening of day 2 [48 hours later].
If you haven't taken him to the doctors you should really or just call them and ask for advice. They can go for weeks without food my doctor told me so don't worry about him starving! I know it's hard especially if it's your first child - they are so precious! Good luck!

Start out slow with the foods for the baby. After getting over the flu you should give him... bananas, crackers, bread, rice and applesauce. He needs bland foods till he is better, try some of those. Once he can keep those down then add a little more food at a time. The stomach flu is hard on everyone especially little ones because they can't tell you for sure that they still aren't feeling well. Good luck to you and your little one.
If this continues I would call the doctor and run it by them. They can also give you more tips on what to do. Hope he feels better soon :)

It could be too heavy for him. Try simple things like toast to start with. Once he has kept that down, try something else. My little one is now 3 and toast always helps as a first meal after being sick! Hope that helps! Hope he feels better soon!

when kids are sick they need time for their tummies to get used to food again. Your doctor would tell you to follow the BRAT diet. bananas, rice, apple sauce, and toast. they are bland and are less likely to upset his stomach. try that and dont let him eat too much or he will just keep throwing it up.

B.R.A.T. Diet. Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast (no butter or jam.) These foods are the least likely to upset his tummy.

Give him plenty of pedialite and try him on the BRAT diet:
Bananas
Rice(no butter)
Applesauce
Toast (dry)
This will usually settle his stomach. And, of course, if it continues, take him to the doctor. If his vomiting starts to be accompanied by diarreah, please take him to ER. Their is a virus going around called 'roto virus'.

first, call your pediatrician and ask them.
mine recommends liquids only (formula or breast milk, not just water) every two hours or as often as possible and no solid foods until he has not thrown up for a full 24 hours.
