generally the basic steps for installing a new graphics card is the same regardless of your system. the absolute first step is deciding wether you need one or not. then you need to check if you motherboard can fit another video card( any pci, pci-e, or AGP?). if you can fit another video card then find one that matches your connection on the motherboard. of course you have to make sure that the graphics card is compatable with your system (e.g. Mac cards with a mac system, Dx cards with a pc.). then you simply insert the card into your motherboard and possibly take the old one out. after that you go into the system setup screen( F2 when the startup screen appears) and make sure the new card is enabled. after you get to your desktop screen you install the drivers on the cd that came with your graphics card. there you go, your video card should be working, if not, then you may want to look up the manufacturer and get a replacement.
