Whenever you feel really moved about something, write down your thoughts about it. Usually when people start writing their own songs they tend to be kinda sad, because most people have strongest emotions when they're sad. I would recommend keeping a notebook where you have nothing but writing in it, espescially songs. There's really no way that someone can help you write songs better, it's all about you helping yourself get better. You can look on Google for tips on how to have smooth poems that rhyme better, but in the end it's all about how much you practice.

Be honest about everything, don't be afraid of pain, be descriptive enough to evoke feeling. Write about things that happen to you and created an emotion....fight with a friend, car accident, that cutie at starbucks gave you a wink...don't be fake and try to write what you think might be a good song...just write.
