My daughter was sick like this for a few days and I took her to the doctor. She said not to feed her anything for 8 hours not even water. After 8 hours give her a teaspoon of water. If she keeps that down then increase it to a quarter cup. If she keeps that down then a full glass. When she can drink a full glass and not throw up then allow her some crackers and so on. She said it is a virus infection that is really not a big deal for kids but the more you feed them the longer it stays. I would still have your child checked out by a doctor just to be safe.

The best way of dealing with a stomach bug is to just drink plenty but not eat.....the food simply feeds the bugs.

Try giving him Pedialyte. Pedialyte replaces all the nutrients that he's missing because of the vomiting. If he can't hold anything down then you shouldn't be giving him any food...just clear liquids; nothing with sugar. If he's hungry anyway, try feeding him some dry toast or crackers. Good luck!

Yes, I agree. Take him to your GP for a check up, both for your own piece of mind and just in case he has a bug again.

Mums are wonderful.

Pedialite is a good hydrator.
Make sure to sterilize EVERYTHING. Doesn't help things if the family is passing it back and forth all the time.
