No Liberal is going to honestly answer this question.
It exposes their hypocrisy, demagoguery and outright propagandizing lies.
The root of the references to Hitler & Fascism come from the Stalinist view that anyone who disagreed with Stalin was a Fascist. This has given rise to the view that Communism is a leftist ideology and Fascism a rightist ideology. Nothing is farther from the truth. Fascism can only be seen as right wing if you are viewing it from the Communist perspective. From a neutral perspective both ideologies are LEFTIST.
They both place the interests of the State or the group above the interests of the individual. This is the overriding tenet of all Leftist ideologies.
The close relationship to Hitler and Fascism to the Left of today can be seen in a comparison of their respective positions on the following. Both support: Gun Control, anti-smoking, environmentalism, the weakening of the traditional family, anti-Christian, anti-Jew, Pro big government, Pro euthanasia, ETC

I don't think Bush was anywhere near as bad as Hitler... and I think most people believe that it's a bit silly... even most liberals...
in fact, Jon Stewart was just making fun of that the other night...
but I've heard a bit of everything on here... even comparing liberals to Nazis... and that is no more correct...
that's just the "ultimate bad guy" so everyone is going to compare the other guy to him...

Well this is not really an answer, I never claimed he was. What I do say is that a lot of things that are happening in this Country: the "Patriot Act", acceptance of torture and holdind someone indefinitely without charging them of a crime, hatred and exploitation of immigrants, shady "reasons" for invading a Country and reluctance to find the people responsible for the attack on our soil on 9-11-01 are eerily LIKE what Hitler began doing when he took office.......

Hitler was a lunatic... Bush is just doing the wrong thing (most of the time).. but last I checked he hadn't tried his hand at genocide... nor at invading Europe... but I think where the fear comes from is in his tendency to try and limit some liberties in the name of freedom.. that is part of fascism and that is why some over think the issue and make the analogy.
