It could be a number of things. She could be lacking in fatty acids and oils for the skin, which comes from a bad diet. She should be on a good quality complete dog food such as James well beloved. You could also trying to add some veg oil, cod liver oil, evening primrose oil to food. It could also be that she had an allergy, causing dry itchy skin or a parasite, in which case she would need to see a vet

It could be a number of things. A flea allergie, mites, mange, the food you are feeding or in the worse case cancer or a tumor. My dog had a flaky rash on his back end and the vet said that was due to him having testical cancer. Get her checked out at the vets they will advise.

I had a cat with similiar symptoms. The vet said it could be the food they're eating, they may have developed an allergy. He also may have parasites or i think they said tapeworm or some kinda worm, the possibilies are endless to what it could be and the best thing to do is take him to the vet, he may just have dandruff and need a good bath.

It could be anything from a dietary problem to mange. You need to take her to the vet for a proper diagnosis. They may need to do a skin scraping to deternime this.
My in-laws beagel had itchy spots with hair loss and her's was dietary, they stopped feeding her commercial dog foods and began making her food and treats from scratch. She has stopped itching and her hair is growing back. They started her new diet only 4 weeks ago.

It is probably just like dandriff on a human, my dog has dry flakey skin. But you should probably take her to a vet and make sure that it isn't anything real serious. Try searcing things on the internet to see if there is a shampoo that could cure it. Good luck.

Could be a type of mange. You should get her to the vet. Try giving her some Vitamin E. (I'd suggest getting a liquid to rub on her back.) We have gell pills we give to our Pekingese/Pomeranian mix (As well as the liquid we rub on her back) because in the winter she gets dry skin but we've taken her to the vet about it and they said thats all it was. (We were worried about mange.) Your best bet is to get her checked out to be sure.

Oh yeah. Food is another thing. What kind are you feeding her? Have you recently swicthed foods? Some dogs have allergic reactions to certain things in foods and most bag foods are crap.

It may just be dog dandruff, but take her to the vet to be sure. There are plenty of dog shampoos, but, strange as many people may think it is, if you massage 2 drops of lavender oil into the area twice a day, that may help! Aromatherapy is fantastic for animals if you do it properly

I have a wrinkle dog and he used to have the same problem. Most short haired wrinkle dogs do. And I asked a woman who breads them and she told me of a great shampoo that really works. It is called mane 'n tale.

Try some fresh, good healthy foods instead of commercial dog food, if you're using it. That stuff has a lot of crap in it which can cause skin problems, etc. in some doggies.
