20 weeks is usually pretty acurate.....the line is probably the line between the labia's. Trust me if they saw a penis they would know!! i had my u/s at 18 weeks and it was very clear that we were having a boy!!! You'll have more ultrasounds to verify. Congratulations on the little girl tho! GOOD LUCK!

i would not run out and buy a lot of pink. they can be wrong. if it is a boy he could be hiding it. my cousin and his gf just had a baby boy. they knew at the 20 week scan because he was proudly showing it off. i would wait for a later scan. see if you can see the line again. maybe you will be able to get a better look later. some doctors are never a 100%. right now if you are going to by anything i suggest yellows and greens.

They say they are not 100% so you can't turn aroudn and sue them on the off chance they get it wrong and you have spent thousands on the wrong colour, but the people who do these scans do it everyday all day, and are very very rarely wrong, if they weren't sure, they would have made that extremely clear to you, so if they say it's a girl you can be sure it's a she.

Be careful - Although my 20 week scan was correct (had a girl) I had two friends who were both positive it was a girl (from the 20 week scan) and both had boys - very suprised!! Girls are harder to detect because it could be a boy hiding his stuff!!

Its never 100 percent accurate, they are known to get it wrong, but only rarley.

I had 2 girls, and each time, they showed me what looked like a burger opened, this is how thye described it to me, they where right both times.

Not 100%. I was supposed to have a boy from my ultrasound. I had a lovely little girl. You can't always go by the ultrasound.

I had a 20 week ultrasound and was also told it was a girl. The tech said she was 99.6% sure. She had been doing it for over 15 years, so I trust her.
Congrats.
