From the never-ending "Do as I say, not as I do" file on the hypocritical Left comes the shocking revelation that Michael Moore was less than honest in making "Roger and Me".

It seems the Rotund One also has a problem with guerilla ambush-style film making...if it's used on him. Typical.

Before any of you gets on your soapbox about conseratives attacking Moore, please read the article: the filmmakers in question are fellow liberals.

Is anyone surprised that Moore is as sleazy as we have been saying for years?

big pen: Funny you should ask. I was born, raised, and lived in the Flint area (Clio, to be exact) for over 30 years. The only people responsible for the closings in Flint are the UAW. It's ludicrous to pay people a compensation package worth over $73/hour for putting screw "A" into hole "B". GM approached the UAW about altering their contracts at Buick City, the Hole, and Fisher Body, all of which were rebuffed by the UAW. They cost themselves their jobs. GM owes nothing to anyone.

Lizz: Theres a difference between an opinion and an out-and-out lie. The entire premise of "Roger and Me" was that the intrepid documentarian would not be seen by the haughty CEO. It turns out that not only did Smith agree to meet with Moore, but they spent several hours together over TWO meetings. face facts: Moore is a lying weasel.

Big Pen: The only thinig GM owes anyone is the agreed-upon compensation for hours worked. If someone wants more than that, perhaps they should buy stock in the company. BTW, GM didnt found Flint. Flint was settled in the 1830's, incorporated as a city in 1855, and was a major manufacturing site long before David Buick set up shop. It was called Vehicle City because of the carriages built there in the late 19th Century.

Big Pen: Your statistics only tell half the story. Flint was a sh*thole before the plants closed. Crime started rising precipitously during the '60's, and has neer reversed course. Blaming gangs, drugs, and general thuggery on GM is like blaming Ding Dongs for making Rosie O'Donnell fat. I reiterate: no corporation owes anyone one red cent more than what is bound to pay them. There is no "social compact" between a city and a corporation. GM's only true responsibility is to the people who put their money where their mouths are: the shareholders.

How could this be? Because he promotes everything that is anti-American.

Michael Moore is sleazy, morally bankrupt, anti-American, and dangerous.

I agree with you completely concerning the UAW being the demise of not only GM, but all USA automotive industries failures to build quality products, (that is, products that meet the consumers expectations). IMO, GM's failure was in thinking they could allow workers to continue to build sub-standard products and thinking the American public would continue to purchase the inferior product after having a taste of Toyota, Honda, Mazda, etc.

IMHO, I cannot for the life of me understand how anyone, can support and promote Michael Moore.

So you think closing down the Auto Plant was good for the residents of Flint?

GM doesn't even owe anything to people who built their cars and made the company what it is?

When a corporation creates a town, it has a responsibility to those citizens.

"Of the nearly 80,000 people that worked for General Motors in Flint during its peak years in the late 1970s, only about 8,000 are left after the 2006 buyouts. Many of the remaining factory workers in Genesse County have a cynical and bitter opinion of General Motors' commitment to Flint and its people."

80,000 people does not make a town........I guess I'm wrong.

GM owes everything to the people of Flint. GM made a shitty business decision to make cars that only last 10 years when the rest of the world was making cars that last 25 years. And, that was Rogers call.

and now.....

"According to the FBI, Flint has one of the highest crime rates in Michigan (5538 incidents/100,000 residents). In 2004 the second highest violent crime rate in the United States. Flint was recently named as the third most dangerous city in the United States in an evaluation by Morgan Quitno Press"

NO...GM leaving people with only their pud in their hand has nothing to do with the crime rate....NO WAY.

Yeah, I thought "Roger and Me" was one of his worst films, but what he does is different from a persuasive essay published in a periodical? He represents one side, strongly, to make his point. What's wrong with that? He is pointing out the flaws society has made. I've become upset at slanted essays, portraying only one idea, but you have to understand it's that persons opinion. If you don't agree with Moore then stop watching his films. It might take some frustration out of your life. Not everyone is just like you. Deal with it and enjoy the differences.

Michael Moore is a spinner and a twister of truth. I don't know who it was who thought to make him an actor, since that is all he is, but they were stupid. Michael Moore wasn't a success as a comedian, or an actor, so went to politics, to upset the country enough to notice him. He's a loser, he knows it. The issue of politics, always gets people excited, and angry. People get emotional, so here come the loser to rile us. It gets him noticed, and now he can feel good about himself, for being an idiot. Although, I don't think he knows it.

IMHO....most documentaries are made by people gunning for a certain agenda. Be them from the right or left...

It doesn't surprise me that HE was dishonest as it seems to me that nearly ALL so called "truthful documentaries" are full of half truths and outright lies (like I said, be them left leaning OR right)....except maybe the Supersize Me one....That was pretty gross, but I don't eat McDonald's "food" anyway.....

Hear this: Michael Moore does not represent me. I am a liberal. Michael Moore is in the business of political entertainment, and has nothing to do with me or my beliefs.

Most liberals feel the same way.

Stop assuming that the loudmouths speak for everyone... unless you want us to assume that about you too.

I've tried to watch Moore a few times, but I always end up feeling as if I'm being lightly coated with grease...

Whether you are a conservative or a liberal, you should resent the tactics used by such a deceptive and manipulative jerk.

He definitely hits the mark sometimes, but I admit his technique is pretty sloppy and over the top at times. Kinda spoils the good points of his films. Read covert action quarterly if you wanna see some really well reported dirt.

Moore's first documentary was witty and fun, it seems with each new documentary, he slides into hyperbole and wrong headedness to such an extent, that he is disappointing.
