and was wondering what cause and effect topic i should write about any ideas? thanks

How about the cause and effect of pregnancy? Either sex causes pregnancy or pregnancy causes child. Or you could do the cause and effect of marriage if you are married--that'd be a funny paper. The cause being marriage and the effect being how it's changed your relationship or you. This really happens 99.9% of the time so it'd be an interesting paper.

Write about an event in your life or an experience you had. Talk about a cause and effect that happened to you. If you make it personal it will be much easier to write about and if there's a required length it will take less effort to meet. Hope this helps... a couple situations that have happened to me that I might write about include:

Cause: I put having fun before being responsible...
Effect: My tire blew up on the expressway when I ignored it and there wasn't a lot of fun that night!

Cause: I put forth a ton of effort training my horse the season before showing...
Effect: I placed Reserved Champion.

Just take something that stands out and I am sure you can find a cause/effect relationship because they are everywhere! Then use the details of the event or experience to intensify it. Good luck!

East of Eden by John Steinbeck is full of different themes and ideas. It is a thick book, but a fast read. You can write many upon many papers about it.

Another topic which I like is Anne Frank's view of the importance of her religion in her diary. I loved researching that.
