will a new processor benefit me more for gaming am on a budget

with that setup the best thing you could do to improve gaming on a budget would be to upgrade your graphics card. If you have a pci-e slot there are a ton of options these days for meeting a budget. You would notice a huge improvement if you went to an Nvidia 7600 gs or something along the same price range. If you are like me and stuck with agp for now then you have fewer options, but the ati x800 is good and also the nvidia 6800 series agp cards would work well!

If your processor matches or exceeds recommended spec for the games you play, then a video card upgrade would be your best bet. Latest releases from Nvidia and Ati come in Pci-ex and Agp flavours.
Definitely check Toms Hardware guide for detailed info.
Look for 1 with at least 256 Mb of DDR 3 memory and pixel shader 3 support
Shop around there are bargins to be had out there

It depends how fast it is, and also, how much memory does your video card have?
