ok this is gonna sound weird but it works well. Use a crochet hook and tape your draw string to it using black electrical tape as tightly as possible, then just run it through.
Hope it works for you, it has never failed for me

YES
This is my experience, When that happens I stick the string end back into the hole.
You cant get it all the way thru of course.
However I found you can scrunch up and inch or two of the waistline at a time at first just an inch. But youhave to hold on to the plastic wrapped end of the draw string really tight. at first you may only get a quarter inch, then a half, then at leat and inch.
You keep hold onto the plastic wrapped end with your index and your thumb. Using your "x-ray vision'
Before you l=know it youll have the end traveled back to the entry hole.
It will take three minutes Max, but be patient because its a little by little process.
Heres the solution I've found to keppit it from happening again. If Your lucky enuff not to have the eyelet(metal0 to have washed or fell out) this works
Tye the ends of both ends of the drawstring into about t usually three maybe four knots that usually makes it big enough so it won pass through the hole again and you wont have to repeat the redthreading process
I found two knots are not enough so knot up the ends about three time at least all together.
I ve ben doing this since I was a preteen and it works a few decades ago GLtu hope this helps you out.

Hi
Yes there is a easy way.
Get a safety pink and pin one end of the thread to the shorts then attach another pin to the end of the thread and it should be a lot easier to thread through.
Give it a try a little patients and it should be done in a few mins.
Tie knots at the end of each string large enough to stop it coming out again or put beads on the end that works too.

I have used a pair of twizzers and pulled the drawstring through. If the string is completly out, then what I will usually do is make a small cut(s) on the inside and pull the string around.

Use a safety pin on the end of the drawstring when you feed it through. That way you can feel & manipulate the bulk of the safety pin through the material.

My dad perfected this one. He would secure a safety pin to the edge of the string, then fish the safety pin through the waistband. no finger pricks!

hook a safety pin through the end of the string and you can use that to guide through the draw string channel
