My doctor says that at this point in my pregnancy I should have gained around 10-15 lbs. Well, I have gained 2. She is telling me to eat more food at my meals, because everything that I am taking in is going straight to my baby and is not giving me anything and that's why I'm so tired and havn't gained any weight. Any suggestions on how to eat more when I just feel full after a few bites?

I did not have an eating disorder before I got pregnant. I am in the Navy and was at a very healthy weight. So, I don't know why I get sick like that, and I do try to eat, but in order to keep what I do eat down I stop.

I'm 17 weeks. By the time I was 10 or 11 weeks I had lost 6 lbs. I have now only gained about 3 back so I 'm still not even at my pre-pregancy weight. I just don't have much of an appitite. After being sick for 2 months I just don't want that much to eat. Lunch is usually my biggest meal then when it comes to dinner i just want toast or a heathly snack or something. I totally know how you feel. I really don't have any suggestions but just wanted to let you know I"m in the same boat. I really don't think at 20 weeks you should have to gain that much! That seems like a lot, maybe 5 or 6 lbs. I think that as long as you are eating and taking your vitimins you should be fine. Just pick foods that are good for you!

You usually pack on the most pounds towards the end of your pregnancy, certainly not the beginning. I would not be worried in the slightest. Eat small meals throughout the day instead of three. Eat healthy foods, don't eat fatty foods just to gain waight, this will not benefit you or baby. Your doctor sounds kinda like an idiot, sorry but she should really know this stuff!! Good luck.

I only gained a total of 15 lbs. during each of my pregnancies...but the baby's weights were always good and they were both born healthy and over 8 lbs.
Some women have a tendency to gain while others have a more difficult time. YOUR weight is not important, it's how the baby is growing and developing. Don't get caught up on numbers...everyone is different. In the last few weeks you will put on weight, but in the meantime, enjoy the fact that you're one of the lucky ones!
Lots of love and luck to you and your baby-to-be!! I wish you nothing but the best in this life!

WHAT?! I'm 36 weeks pregnant, and I've only gained 14 pounds. Just keep eating healthy and eat only until you get full, try drinking a extra glass of milk or full fruit juice (i.e. orange juice with pulp or pure apple juice) Keep taking your prenatals and you'll be fine, the weight will come soon enough.

Just make sure you eat nutritious foods. Eat small meals and snacks throughout the day. And make sure you take your pre-natal vitamins.
I gained only 13lbs my whole pregnancy (i was even 10 days late) and my daughter was 8lbs7oz.

Eat alot of carbs and proteins. that way you get everything you and your baby needs in very little food. Also you could go to GNC store and get some stuff that will make you more hungry and help you gain more weight

Eat small snacks throughout the day; then you don't feel like you have to stuff yourself at one meal.
