I am a conservative and believe these key issues, who do you think deserves my vote?

*Anti-Gun Control
*Anti-Illegal Immegration
*Pro War on Terrorism (must not be a p|_|ssy when it comes to defending out country)
*I am pro-choice on abortion
* I believe in stem cell research both embryotic and otherwise
*No socialist concepts such as income redistribution
*Some reform to healthcare but not a "make the rich peopple pay more so the poor can have it for free" idea like the liberals currently have.

My main issues are immegration, the war, gun control in that order. I am willing to bend on the other issues. Who do you think meets this most closely with their announced ideas/voting record?

Edit: My only concern with Giuliani is that in New York he has banned guns. I have heard him say that he only did that because of the high crime nad he felt the states should be left to make that choice but I dont know if I trust that. I know some say he has a lot of liberal ideas but im not sure if this is true or not.

@ Jomammy

I agree, im mainly conservative but I understand the base of that party is evangelicals which I am not, and they are are going to want pro-life. Im willing to give that up even though itll just result in more coathanger abortions. Main thing I care about is that we dont defund the troops (since I am in the army) and that immegration be handled immediately, mainly by enforcing our law already in place.

Edit 2: The candidate needs to be a mainstreet republican, I know I know I wish I could vote libertarian like I have int he past but lets face it they just wont win and the republicans need to maintain controll in 08.

Also, I know some people hgave an issue with Giuliani's family history w/ ex-wives etc. I don't give one flying f**k, I dont care if he got with a fat chick in the oval office and used a cigar to do things other than smoke, as long as he is tough on immegration and gives money to the military.

Unfortunately there aren't going to be too many mainstream candidates that have your particular mix of ideals.

There might be a few libertarians or independents that don't have to toe their party line on all issues though they stand almost no chance of getting elected (your stance on most of your issues sound fairly right wing, but unfortunately almost none of the right wingers will be pro-choice because they will lose the backing of the religious right).

We need a common sense approach, and I don't think we are going to get it from the current crop of politicians.

The most we can hope for is someone with more on the ball than the current administration.

Have you done any research on Huckabee?

Huckabee is a formitable candidate. He is conservative but has that same soft side that can win over people of the middle. He has been a governor of a southern state for 8 years and been the head of the Natl Governors Assoc.

From what I gather, your vote looks like it should go to John McCain. Although, he is a bit stiff on the Illegal trespassing issue, he is trying to fix it. He is also pro kick the tar out of the terrorists. He has the best chance at the presidency under those issues, partly because most Americans are damn tired of illegals raping our children, and using our tax paying dollars for free-bies, and taking our jobs. On most of your issues, John McCain thinks as you do. I will vote for him.

What about Duncan Hunter? He's not polling very well but it's still early? He seems to represent your politically conservative values very well but not your social issues. But seeing as you prioritize the political / economic over the social, I'd check him out.

See! Liberals can help out conservatives when they ask questions in good faith.

Still looking myself, did work for Rudy on his campaign for Mayor back in the day as a public relations photographer. I like him then and sort of favor him now.

But it's too early to get on the band wagon, yet.

I would have said Giulaini, bur you already rejected him. Maybe Gingrich, but he isn't pro abortion. Tancredo is toughest on immigration, but is a 1 issue candidate.

Please see this site. They collect just the facts, and are not endorsed by (nor do they accept $ from) any candidates, special interest groups, etc. It can be very helpful in sorting things out, and cutting through the smears.

I'd say Giuliani, provided he works on the immigration issue.
