I am 21 and my boyfriend and I have been together for over 4 years. I know that we are young, but I want to get married because I know that he is the one that I want to spend the rest of my life with. He feels the same way, but says that we should wait until we get older. Do you think that this is right? I am getting tierd of waiting and I don't know if I should tell him that he needs to ask me or else I am walking. Do you think thats wrong?

Ultimatums rarely work. I do think you are a bit young to be this strongly into marriage. Live a bit be young. There will be time enough for marriage. While I think our years is way more then enough time to be together, you are a bit young to hope it will really work out in the end.

If you walk... you still won't get married, so what's the point? You have to meet someone else and wait another few years. You might as well wait. You're way too young to get married anyway. What's the rush?

Your boyfriend is absolutely right. You are very young, what is your big hurry?
If you two really love each other, then you'll stay together. What is so important about a piece of paper?
Plus, why do you want to marry someone who doesn't want to marry you?
Your boyfriend sounds mature, listen to him.
Putting an ultimatum on someone cannot lead to good consequences. You might find yourself alone. Would you be ok with that?

Wow! you sound like me lol i am 21 and my b/f is 23 we have been together 4 years now. I want to get married and he is kind of like we are still young blah blah blah. Well, he was the first one to bring up marriage before. Anyways, its been a battle up and down. Finally, i told him What the point of dating and dating if its not going to go anywhere and he said your right. So, i kind of gave him an ultimatium in a nice way and we are soon to be engaged all i know is it sometime between now and our 5 year anniversary in october. he would have done it already but i want it to be a suprise lol. so i am excited. Just try talking to him, but dont force him into anything that may push him away. i wish u the best!!
Plus i had other problems to deal with like his parents trying to break us up. They still dislike me because i am not catholic or polish :( she he has also been hesitant about them.

You should wait...if you love him then you are in no rush. He is not going anywhere! You have your whole lives ahead of you to be a married couple- enjoy just being young and in love..with no responsibility!
