If you have a local Golf Club near you go and ask the head green keeper what he uses on his greens to control Leather jackets. Good luck.

most of the time the treatment to get rid of leatherjackets is applied during the fall late august/october. Im not sure on jeyes but there should be lots of different chemicals you can use to rid of the ugly beasts. I have a problem with slugs myself.

another option if you dont want to use chemicals is after it rains or showers place a old rug/mat or polyurithane padding out. in the morning lift it up and let the local birds feast.

You need a chemical called Crossfire 480, the active ingredient is chlorpyrifos. It is nasty stuff and best applies by a competent person. Look on the BALI web site for an approved contractor in your area.

if you spread a plastic sheet over the area, it will 'sweat' the leatherjackets to the surface and theyu will come out of the ground, then you can get them or leave them to the birds
