Do you take people at face value or is there a voice in your head questioning everyone else's motives?

well, the only people on the web that i communicate with, and do not actually know in person, are all on my 360.
most of the people on my 360 are just people that i have found interesting on answers, and we comment back and forth on each other's pages..

i do consider myself to be pretty cautious, but there are about 5 people that i eventually came to speak with through email or IM on a regular basis.
these people haven't shown themselves to be losers yet...so i am trusting them more as time goes on.

initially i go with my gut. sometimes i have taken several days before adding someone to my 360, because i wanted to learn more about them, others i have added as quick as i could, and still others have been denied altogether.

i guess the distance makes me feel safer (and sadder sometimes too when i start to build good relationships with people).

***sorry*** this ended up being a much longer answer than i intended! xx

I take everyone at face value. But I've learned that you can sleep in the same bed with someone for 20 years and have no idea who they really are. My trust level is about negative 10.

I don't trust anyone, to be frank. I just go along and watch them. Only the very few really win my trust in real life, and less on the web. Trust has many levels, and I reserve a lot to no one.

Nobody who spends 90% of their time on the internet is to be trusted.

I never believe anything I hear and only 1/2 of what I see until I have proof...

It is healthy to have some skepticism, particularly when on the Internet and upon opening eMails.

depends on the person and the circumstances... i've met some fantastic people on here... people i'd really trust... but so far, nobody's wanted anything from me...

It depends; I listen to my instincts and pay attention to what they have to 'say.' I then make the judgment call whether to trust or not and to what extent. ♥
