Rock-A-Doodle(i took that movie with me to my class in prek, everyone loved it, and yes i do remember prek.)
Cars, Ice Age, Ice AGe 2, Brother Bear, Open Season, A Disney Movie, Spirited Away,
Goonies would be good for the older kids(4th and 5th grade). It might scare the younger ones. Sky High, The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers(not the new movies, but the original)um.... Put some names into a hat, and draw them out. There are so many different kids movies out there,

If you want a really good one that is also going to teach on some level I would most definetly say FernGully. Almsot everyone remembers that movie. You could also try:
'Who Shot Roger Rabbit',
'Rock-a-doodle',
'Oliver' (or 'Olivers Company' some kids already know that story),
'The Sound of Music',
'Where the Red Fern Grows'
'E.T.'
'Goonies' would be good for an older audience
'The Loin King'
if you took them to the movies I would suggest 'Bridge to Terabithia' most kids start reading that book in school at about grade 3/4
'The Hobbit' the animated one from way back in the day.

Hope that helps

Any of the Disney movies, and some of the ealier Spielberg movies. What ages in elem sch? You'd show different movies for 1-3 than you would for 4-6. Goonies is good; also ET.

Ice Age went down really well with my students. And as an adult I love it too. Everyone should enjoy that, I'd say.

Goonies is also a good choice, or maybe Pirates of the Carribbean.

If it is family night, that means there will be parents there also, I am assuming? If so, you'll need something that will keep their interest also. Here are some titles that I have watched and highly recommend:
"Open Season"-- animated, Ashton Kutcher & Martin Lawrence
"Air Buddies"--live action
"Cheaper By the Dozen"--Steve Martin
"Finding Nemo"--animated
"Are We There Yet?"--live action, Ice Cube
"E.T."--live action, and I'm willing to bet a lot of the children haven't seen it! Parent's will still love it.
"Over the Hedge"--animated, Bruce Willis
"Lilo and Stitch"--animated
"An American Tale"--animated
"The Land Before Time"--animated

"The Goonies" scared me when I was little! "Flushed Away" would probably be okay, but I've not watched it.

It might be a good idea to look for older titles--most kids have seen the newer movies.

Hope this helps!

Howl's Moving Castle
Spirited Away
Kiki's Delivery Service
All are Hayao Miyazaki animated movies and all three are excellent for children.

~BTW~ What on earth is wrong with you losers that give the thumbs down for everything ???
Your life must really suck if you feel the need to use that all of the time!
Take some prozac or something !

If it's at school, you ought to try something that they've read. Like the movie Holes or The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Every year in school we watched the Red Baloon. It is an old movie but in school they showed it to us at least 7 or 8 times.
