If there wasn't such a high demand for their services and they weren't making so much money, they wouldn't be doing it. The blame should lie with the customers.

They are in denial. Most people who are comfortable with who they are will admit that they watch porn, if they do. I personally dont see what the big deal is its only sex. I do understand that parents dont want their kids watching it and it is fairly easy for them to get a hold of it now.

There is a common perception that the people who produce pornography - and yes, that's what you're talking about even if you aren't brave enough to admit it - are abused, degraded and dehumanized. The answer to that is, of course, that most folks haven't seen their paychecks. You're right, if it weren't lucrative, nobody would do it. But the critics are right, too: it does degrade and cheapen human inter-relationships. It does present a narrow and too often a blighted view of human sexuality. That's the point, you see: if it seems nasty, people are much more likely to buy it. It's the old "forbidden fruit" attraction. People go "I can't have it, but boy, I sure like fantasizing about it, and these books 'n videos help me do that!"
Producers of such porn get rich, and some of the more attractive female performers do, too. Not many of the male performers make above minimum wage - but hey, where else can you make even that kind of money having sex?

Because it seems that the whole world is going sex crazy. Just read the questions asked here on Yahoo answers. The biggest part of them has to do with sex. Sex is one out of millions of subjects, but it sure is overworked everywhere.
That's the reason that those who are getting darn sick of this sex sex sex stuff look down on anything that adds to it.
Sure the blame should lie with the customers, but you could say the same thing about illegal drugs, explosives, poisons, etc. Some things can't be left up to the public, because the public is sometimes too weak for their own good, and too careless that the material might get into the hands of kids - - - - getting them started down the wrong road.

I love the adult industry - I like having a safe, nonjudgemental outlet for my sexuality. Of course, some people are uptight ******* - that's why they hate porn!

Porn is for people who can't get laid. They watch it, get extremely horny, and eventually go out and rape a woman or child. I'm betting that most child molesters and rapists are fans of porn.
