No Doubt he should, he has carried Dallas the whole season this year. Howard and Terry are good, but inconsistent. compared to nash who has stoudamire, marion, raja bell, and leandro barbosa. no doubt dirk wins mvp.

The MVP is determined before the NBA Finals start and yes, i think Dirk Nowitzki should get the MVP. Steve Nash won it all the past two years and the Suns had the best record and the next best record in those respective years. Dirk Nowitzki should get it 'cause not only is he playing at a high level, but his team is. It makes no sense that your team has the best record and you don't win MVP.
P.S. Avery Johnson should win the NBA's Coach of the Year as well.

He deserves to win the MVP this year, however, it is not over yet. Playoffs are around the corner and I believe he should step up a little bit more. Did you see him yesterday against GSW? I am a MAVS fan, but I think Terry is also taking a run at it.
If Jet has a nice postseason, he might have a chance.
Dallas has not won yet, hopefully all of their hard work will pay off, with a championship.

Dirk Nowitski should get the MVP no matter if they win the title or not, He's almost unstoppable.

above poster had it correct, league MVP picked before finals...Dirk is one of few prospects for MVP given how much the Mavs have improved...the little general (avery) has done a fine job putting the team on the improve the last two years stressing team defense...

If Dirk steps up and plays like a real all-star then yes. If Terry is on fire in the FINALS , Dirk won't get the MVP.

i think it would be a toss up between him and Jason terry he. Jason has been the x-factor of this team all year but nowitski is the leader and in my eyes one of the most versatile players in the NBA but i do believe that either of them deserve it but more people like nowitski

If he wins the championship before the MVP then that would be a feat....Some of you make it sound as though they already won it so I guess it is possible.
