My younger sister had this. It was sooo funny to find out WHY it was so big! When she delivered her placenta it was 1/2 the size of her daughter! (3.5 pound placenta!) The doctor took a picture of it! She'd never seen one so big! They sent it away for testing but it all turned out to be normal. My sister still "brags" about her "twins". lol Her second daughter was born with twice as much amniotic fluid...still all was fine! Everyone is so different and unique, doesn't mean anything is "wrong". Rest easy, it's probably a large placenta or more than average fluid.

You uterus might contain more amniotic fluid than it should, so I would consider that as a possibility and ask your OB about it. The most common reason for a larger uterus is of course multiple pregnancies, but you said the ultrasound only showed one little one. I would get another ultrasound too, because you may have one that's hiding. I've heard of this happening to women before. Hope this helps

Having a large Uterus is a good thing. You should have no problem carrying your child full term and you should have an easy delivery. Congratulations!

My uterus was always large and I had large babies. I think you are probably just going to have a big baby. Don't worry about it. My babies weighed 8lb 10 oz, 9lb 11 1/2oz and 8lb 13oz!!

Naw, it'll slow down and baby will catch up .. don't stress.
Nature has a way of taking its course and working everything out.
Also, it gives your baby extra room to play!

good luck! God bless!

It will probably always measure big. Mine did. I went thru the exact same thing. They suspected twins but it was just one. Everything was fine. Is this your 3rd or 4th pregnancy?

Nah, it will all even out - it happens early on like that sometimes. Don't worry about it, focus on your baby. Your doc will let you know if your to be concerened. Not to worry, keep your chin up kiddo!
