the absolutelty greatest thing I have found to do this is the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser sponge. Very inexpensive, available at most grocery/drug/walmart stores. You could also make a paste out of baking soda with a TINY but of salt, but the eraser sponges are easiest and do not scratch.

Lay a wet cloth on the stain. Let sit for a few minutes, should come right up. No chemical stains left behind.
