People on both sides always seem to feel lonely if they don't have people around them, I don't. I would rather go for a stroll in a nice part of downtown, and just check all the stores and stuff out. Friends will come, do what makes Pam happy. There are others out there who are similar to you too. Good Luck and God Bless !!

The best thing you can do is to go out and meet new people! There are so many places that are good to socialize... and some that are just to get out of your home and be active and visible! Some of the social activities in your community could be dancing, or taking some kind of classes that are offered!
There is always a chance you could volunteer somewhere like a medical facility, or library.... even a museum! If nothing else, just get out once in a while and go to a movie... or go do something more active in a games / family center! Have fun and make new friends at the same time... Good luck dear!

You can go read a book at starbucks, go the the gym and excercise, organize your home, find a second job, learn to meditate and yoga, you can attend church, watch movies, join an adults sports team, volunteer in your community, attend a class, learn to paint, do things to take care of yourself like a pedicure or deep condition your hair, go shopping.

Since you are never too old to learn, why don't you take a leisure learning class. You'll make friends and enrich your life by learning.
You can also volunteer at a hospital, they need volunteers 24/7. Great way to feel useful.

Get out and find activities (I'd not recommend going to bars to begin with - dont' know your age) and get busy. It will take time but you will make some friends along the way.
You don't make friends watching TV!

read or take a trip to the library.
Try out the museums or art centres.
Try going for walks or bike rides.
Check the church or local supermarket for things advertised on the post it boards.
There is always something going on in your town or city.
Try the drop in centre or a shelter, maybe they could use some help.
There are many places to meet people and make new friends.
You have to be willing to step out of your comfort zone and be adventurous and let go of your fear...

Find a sport or hobby to do. For example, ice skating is great for all ages and if you do group lessons, then it's a good way to make new friends.
