this is a tad bit graphic - on saturday i had brownish, sticky discharge almost like old period blood in my panties, i had to wear a pad. but then it just disappeared and i didn't get my period. now last night i got my full on period but slowly (light flow)....now today the flow is heavy and i have bad cramps. what is wrong with my period? i used to get it regualar no "spotting" days before - it use to be like clockwork.

That is totally normal! You are just having a discharge of old blood, and sometimes it happens right before your period. In this case, it just happened a few days before. Sometimes periods are worse than others, for reasons I don't know! Stress, diet, exercise, whatever, you can cramp up more during one period or another.
I oftentimes start with the brownish discharge and then go lightly with my period and then go heavy with cramps. Sometimes, I just go into a heavy period without the brownish discharge, sometimes I don't have cramps or a heavy period. I haven't figured out why, yet, but I know that I am healthy and normal gynecologically.
Lastly, there are a lot of reasons why you can have a non-clockwork like period. Mine is also mostly like clockwork, but stress, travel, weight gain, weight loss, illness, etc., etc., can cause you to delay your ovulation (release of the egg) and so your period. I wouldn't worry unless you started having really heavy bleeding and clots, but you can oftentimes call advice nurses through your health insurance or through a medical center. Good luck, but I wouldn't worry too much....
Additional note: Birth control pills can regulate your "period" but it isn't a true period, just kinda breakthrough bleeding. I'm not sure what the technical term is.... They fool your body into thinking it is pregnant which is why you don't have a normal period.

You might want to go to the store and get a pregnancy test just to make sure your not pregnant. If you say your not on any birth control then you should test yourself ASAP!!! You can spot, and come on your period full blown while being in the early months o pregnancy. This happened with a lot of women in my family. Some of them actually had full blown periods up to the 4th month. Every woman's body is different so this can happen to some women out there. If this has just happened then get a pregnancy test just to make sure. If your not pregnant then your just having an irregular period. We all get them at some point or another. I'm very irregular when it comes to my period. I always have been and it hasn't changed, but if you know your period like clockwork then test yourself. I hope everything works out fine for you!

If you are concerned, I would go talk to the doctor.....or at least put a call in. Your age would be a significant factor, because at different ages periods do different things. If you are a teen who has not been having them long------------5 years or less or someone in their 40's, then it is probably normal. Unfortunatly, periods are not something we have any control over!!!!! I wish we did. If you were on BC pills then you could at least control it somewhat.

No concerns! that's thoroughly conventional! i'm getting this each and all the time in specific circumstances each and all the blood would not continually come out and a few maintains to be in and you word for somewhat after your era's achieved. that's thoroughly conventional yet could be somewhat annoying. Use pantiliners once you're no longer on your era to maintain your panties sparkling from discharge or unpredicted blood. wish I helped! XOXO! <3
