"wild onion" is actually a wild garlic, and the best way to get rid of it is to prevent it. What I mean is with a good pre-emergent BEFORE they sprout. A good dose in December and then again in March should be enough. HOWEVER, if you have already been blessed with it, and it is only a few stalks, lightly spray each of them with a systemic spray (one that is absorbed through the leaves down to the bulb), and wait 10-14 days to spray again. They are bulb plants, so if you go pulling them up, they will spread. If that is too much trouble mow them down this summer and start with the pre-emergent next season.

the technical directions say:" Apply three-way (2,4-D + dicamba + MCPP) herbicides in late November or December when the temperatures are above 50 degrees F. Add 1/2 oz surfactant per gallon of spray mix. Repeat treatment in early March and again the following December for complete garlic control.

I have a hunch it's not onions or garlic, but a grass called nut sedge. Take some to yourgarden center. They will tell you for sure, and what to use.

If you don't mind using a herbacide, you can get something at Home Depot or Lowes like "Weed and Feed" which kills the weeds and fertilizes the grass.

That is a great herb for fish or game! Try it and you will probably want to keep a patch of it in your garden. I leave mine near tsome rose bushes. Or you can Invite your friends to harvest it. I did that with the peppermint that had taken over the garden before we moved in.

Fertilize real good and try to pull as many up as you can. If you get your soil healthy enough to thicken your grass, it should smother the rest out. Or you can spot treat with weed killer.

Spray RoundUp directly on the weed ONLY. In a few days it's yellow and GONE.
