There is nothing wrong with a women being a truck driver, as long as it makes you happy and you can handle the work, I say go for it. I think you are right, he is trying to control you by not wanting you to have enough money to be independant from him.

Drive a yellow van for DHL, it doesn't have the masculinity of the big brown UPS truck, plus it's probably a lot easier to drive. When I think of women driving big trucks, I assume she is butchy or dikey, or just a little too masculine... but the DHL van can still suit your financial needs and not make you look like a dike...

Sounds good to me. That hot blonde truck driver eating the taco salad in that Carl's Jr. commercial looked sexy as hell with a foot on the wheel in the cab of her truck!

Tell him you are tired of all the butt pinching you have to take as a waitress. That brown UPS uniform is not very sexy and you get to sit on the pinching zone when you are driving.
Apply for the job you want...it will give you a more fulfilling life if you get it.

I don't see the problem? Maybe he thinks truck-driving is a 'man's thing' and he doesn't want you doing it because of that. Frankly I think that's closed-minded and he's just being stubborn. You're an adult, he's your husband not your father.

To me, love is wanting the other person to be happy. You need to come up with a definition of love, then ask him His definition and see if you two are compatable. It may be time to look for a divorce while you can still remain friends, but see what he says first.

it might not be wanting to keep you dependent on him he might worry about your safety on the road,i think its fine if your are comfortable with your driving abilities in all road conditions like ice and snow that's the part that would worry me.
