hmm, eric clapton recorded a song called cocaine....
When his Layla album received only lukewarm reviews on release; Clapton took this personally, accelerating his spiral into drug addiction and depression.
His main vice has been alcohol - he was hospitalised in the late 70's as an alcoholic.
I don't think that Knobfler has had any recorded drug problems though....

Eric was. He was treated in a rehab center in London in the mid 80's. Mark Knopfler...maybe
