Ipods are only external disks. I don't understand what your problem is. In order to work an ipod on your computer you only need RAM (temporary memory) which you hardly ever run out of unless you're running a zillion apps at the same time, or have a virus that takes up all your RAM.

Your problem seems to be the drivers. Try re-installing or updating your itunes.

Restart your computer, then plug the ipod back in.

By the way, its giga bytes, not gega.
