First, the Childcare workers are not professionals (treating them more like a teenage babysitter then a knowledgeable worker) -- There are requirements for becoming a childcare worker I had an associates degree in Early Childhood education and several people I worked with has bachelors degrees.
Second, that childcare is harmful to the child... Childcare (when done correctly) is a great way to socialize children and they are given a wide range of stimulating activities to work on through the day.
Third, that working with children is an easy job (people have commented to me -- "how hard can that be, just put in movies all day.") According to the center I worked at we were allowed one movie a week and we had to have a pre-movie projects and discussions as well as a written document that related the movie to the weeks lesson plan.

While there aregood schools out there, be careful on what you choose. Remember, your child will be with these individuals for a good part of the day. I would not hesitate to stop by half-way through my day unanounced to be sure they are caring properly for them. Take notes if you notice odors or see strange actions from your child.
