Overclocking the PC is not a very smart idea. The clock is used to synchronize the operation of the tasks performed by the hard-wares. When a processor is designed , its internal circuitry is designed considering the clock speed. Changing the clock speed may malfunction the processor. Overclocking also produces excess heat. This may even fry your processor. Motherboard may also get affected by it.

Overclocking can be fun but,if its a new PC,then i would not.If u don t know what you're doing then you could fry your CPU and invalidate you're warranty(and they will know that you have clocked it).Why not buy a cheap secondhand PC and learn on that.

Can that CPU even be overclocked?

If you know what you are doing Over-clocking can be fun and educational. If you don't know what you are doing Over-clocking can be very expensive.

Of course it's worth it, if you want to get extra performance for free.

But if you don't want any worries , and cannot afford to break anything then don't do it.
